Karan Johar shares ‘Takht’ prep video to shut down rumours of film being shelved

Karan Johar who will return to directing with the multi starrer period drama, Takht had been rumoured to be shelved or delayed due to pre-production issues, the team was facing with set development.

However Karan Johar shared a BTS video to shut down all rumours related to the film’s schedule. The video shows Karan with his team working on the location and sets of the film as the team has a huge board covered with possible sets, and more details that the director did not reveal. He started with the Takht poster and rushed through the story board of the film.

A report in Pinkvilla suggests the film is on track a source working on Takht, said, “The team is currently working rigorously to get the research material and everything in place. There’s a separate room in Dharma, where they brainstorm and look out for pictures to set up the scenario from the Mughal era that the film is based on. How the houses were, how the warfare looked like – all of it is being properly looked upon. A huge set will be built in Mumbai and work on that will also begin soon. As of now, Takht will roll out by the end of 2019 or early next year around January 2020.”

Karan Johar announced the period drama titled ‘Takht’ in 2018. The cast of the film includes, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor.

The film is set in Mughal era and will see Ranveer and Vicky playing the roles of two royal brothers, while Kareena is essaying the role of their sister. Anil Kapoor is said to be playing their father, while Alia and Bhumi will be seen as the wives, and Janhvi as a slave girl.
