We chanced to meet singer Ankit Tiwari, who crooned into our hearts with his song ‘Tum Hi Ho’ from ‘Aashiqui 2’, recently. And during the course of our interaction when we asked the singer if he too takes any speacil care of his voice, just like other singers, he revealed that he doesn’t as he believes if your emotions are in the right place, then the song is bound to be a success! “I have started taking singing as a career only recently but even then, I have never curbed myself from eating anything at all. I eat and enjoy everything to my heart’s content. I think more than anything you need to have your emotions in place for singing. If you are feeling the song, the moment you are trying to project, then you are bound to get it right. After all, it is how they relate to your voice, right?” he said.
What’s more, his voice is giving the girls sleepless nights, hoping to be serenaded by him… when asked about it he said, “I don’t know what to say to that. I am glad that the way I emote in my songs, is touching the audience because it is how it is supposed to be. In an effort to make myself more believable I try to modulate my voice – the way I sound for a Ranbir Kapoor should be different from how I sing for someone else, because the audience has to fall in love with the whole package. I remember earlier I used to listen to the song ‘Chupke se… lagja gale’ from ‘Saathiya’ on a loop because when it comes to songs, you should want to do that… that’s the true test of a song.”
