The actress has accused the producers of ‘Pati, Patni Aur Woh of dropping her from the film without intimation
The remake of the hit film ’70s film has found itself in a net of controversies — and the official production work hasn’t even begun. Actress Taapsee Pannu, who was apparently approached for the remake earlier, has expressed her disappointment on being dropped from the film. While speaking to a leading Mumbai-based tabloid, the Taapsee said she received no official statement from the producers of the film that they were replacing her with someone else.
Countering the ‘Pink’ actress’ claims, producers of the film Bhushan Kumar and Juno Chopra released a joint statement saying: “When a script is locked, every director or producer approaches actors for the casting of the film, it is a basic protocol followed by almost all filmmakers. Similarly, for our upcoming project — Pati Patni Aur Woh, we reached out to many actors, who we thought could be our potential protagonists in the film. The versatile actress Taapsee Pannu was one of the many actresses we had approached for one of the leading ladies in the film. However, we as Producers have never made any commitment to her. We would like to clarify that our casting was purely done on the basis of who suited the characters to the tee. Tapasee is an extremely talented actress and we would love to work with her in future.”
According to certain media reports, Kartik Aaryan and debutante Ananya Panday have been finalised for the remake. But, the producers said they will make an official announcement for the final cast of ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ soon.
