Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan‘s ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ is one of the much-awaited movies of 2018. This will be for the first time that Mr Perfectionist has teamed up with megastar Amitabh Bachchan. The makers of the film released the looks of Big B as ‘Khudabaksh’ and Dangal girl Fatima Sana Sheikh as Zafira which look promising.
Despite the excitement in action, many are unaware that the film is the official adaptation of Phillip Meadows Taylor’s novel- ‘Confessions of a Thug’. The film is set in 1832 in India and will tell the story of the thug culture which existed during the pre-independence era. The story has practices of thugs who murdered travellers for money and valuables.
The novel depicts the story of Ameer Ali, a Pathan whose parents were looted and killed by a gang of thugs. Ali was later adopted by a high-ranked thug, Ismail after boy’s parents was killed. Eventually, Ali later headed a thuggish gang as ‘Jamadar’ who strangled scores of travellers including men, women and other travellers across central and northern India. For the film, Aamir will be playing role of Ameer Ali while Amitabh will essay the role of his adoptive father, Ismail. Besides Aamir, Big B and Fatima, the film also stars Katrina Kaif. The YRF film is releasing on November 7.
