New Delhi: As the ‘Student of the Year‘ completed six years on Friday, filmmaker Karan Johar said that he is proud of his students Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. Karan took to his official Twitter account to show his love for the three actors who marked their debut in the industry with the film.
He posted a clip of the three, captioning it as, “So proud of @s1dofficial @varundvn @aliaabhatt !! Love you and thank you for making this film so special for all of us at @dharmamovies #soty !!!”
Karan launched them through this film, which was about love and friendship. The movie had received immense love, especially from the young audience. In the flick, Varun starred as a rich bully while Sidharth played one of the most likeable personalities as he was shown to be confident, hardworking, and perfect in almost everything. Alia played the role of a spoilt rich girl who didn’t understand things beyond fashion brands and beauty products but was actually a love-struck student who valued relationships above all that.
The three actors have come a long way and have delivered some great performances since their debut. Karan is currently producing the sequel of the film that will star Tiger Shroff and two newcomers including Tara Sutaria and Ananya Pandey. The movie is directed by Punit Malhotra and is slated to hit the big screens on May 10, 2019.
Alia has three movies in her kitty, including ‘Gully Boy’, ‘Kalank’ and ‘Brahmastra’. On the other hand, Varun was recently seen in ‘Sui Dhaaga’ and is currently filming for ‘Kalank’, while Sidharth is gearing up for ‘Jabariya Jodi’.
