Mumbai: A group of third-year law students at Mumbai University had a stressful start to their Labour Law exam on Wednesday when they received question papers in the new pattern, despite being prepared for the old pattern.
Indian Express reported that the error was detected after 30 minutes of the exam, and the university quickly sent corrected question papers to all centres through email. The students were also given additional time to complete the paper. However, most of the students and teachers thought that the damage had already been done.
According to a Mumbai college professor, the initial damage did so much at the time when it created tension but persisted after extra time was given.
This is not the first instance as question papers containing errors have appeared in legal exams at Mumbai University over the past few months. A law college principal remarked to Indian express that the mistake caused undue stress to the students.
Against this backdrop, Mumbai University has rescheduled a meeting with paper setters and examiners to discuss the recurrence of errors in question papers. "Although the number of affected students was small, the university acted swiftly to resolve the problem and provided extra time to ensure no loss of marks," said a university official.
