College Student In Karnataka Allegedly Dies By Suicide After Failing 6 Subjects; Investigation Underway

A 19-year-old AIML student, Tejaswini from Raichur, was found dead in her hostel room at Halligattu CET College, Ponnampet. A suicide note revealed she was distressed over six academic backlogs and unwilling to continue her studies. Police have registered a case, and an investigation into the incident is currently underway.

A 19-year-old student named Tejaswini, a first-year Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) student from Raichur, was found dead in an alleged case of suicide at her college hostel in Halligattu CET College, Ponnampet, Karnataka according to the Kodagu Police, as reported by news agency ANI.

Authorities recovered a note from the scene in which the student reportedly stated that she had six academic backlogs and did not wish to continue her studies. Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.

The incident has raised concerns about mounting academic stress among students, especially in demanding technical fields like AI and engineering.
