BITSAT 2019: Registration to Begin in December

BITSAT is a Computer Based Online test. This is unlike any traditional paper-pencil based test, where all the candidates have to appear one single day for the test. For, BITSAT candidates can choose the Center, Exam Day and Time according to his/her convenience.

BITSAT 2019 is a “must give” engineering entrance exam for every engineering aspirants after the JEE Mains. The registration process to apply for the BITSAT 2019 exam will tentatively begin in the month of December 2018. The candidates have to complete the registration process and filling of application form in an online mode only.

Candidates applying for BITSAT are required to pay their fee online as no offline mode of application fee payment has been employed by the Institute. The fee for an application for BITSAT 2018 is Rs.2950 for the male candidate and Rs.2450 for female candidate. This year fee requirement and process of application will be available once the registration for BITSAT starts.

Steps to Fill BITSAT Application Form

Once the registration process begins, the candidates can fill the application form online using following steps:

BITSAT Paper Pattern

The BITSAT 2019 exam will have 150 MCQ type questions, which will further be divided into 4 sections namely, physics (40 questions), Chemistry (40 Questions), English proficiency and logical reasoning (25 questions) and mathematics (45 questions). The total marks allocated to all the questions are 450.

For each correct answer, candidate will be awarded 3 marks and for each wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted from the total. Candidate can attempt any of the various sections whichever they want. Student can go back and change any answer among 150 questions, there is no time limit to any section.

Moreover, if a candidate answers all the 150 questions (without skipping any question), the candidate will have an option of attempting 12 (twelve) extra questions, if there is still time left. These extra questions will be from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology only with four questions from each part.

Benefits of Scoring in BITSAT

In addition to the direct admission, BITSAT toppers are eligible for scholarships. The candidates who score more than 300 marks in BITSAT are eligible for a fee waiver of 75% of the tuition fee. Similarly, the candidates who score between 250 & 299, are eligible for a fee waiver of 50% of the tuition fee. The candidates scoring in the range of 200 to 249 get a fee waiver scholarship of 25% of the tuition fee.

The direct admission policy of meritorious student’s admission in BITS is such that the First rank students of all the central and state boards in India for the year 2019 will be given direct admission to the program of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT 2018 score as per the eligibility criteria.
