India is going to face New Zealand at the Old Trafford stadium, Manchester today. Apart from the breathtaking performances by both the teams, what people would enjoy is the ads of the 87-year-old Charulata Patel whose energy and enthusiasm for cricket took everyone by delight.
Charulata Patel, who shot into fame, after garnering all the attention towards her during India vs Bangladesh group stage match, has been signed by beverage brand Pepsi for television ads during the World Cup matches.
Pepsi has signed Patel for their "Har Ghoot Mein Swag" campaign for television and digital commercial which would air during India vs New Zealand Semi-Final match at Manchester. It will be accompanied by a fan anthem. Pepsi has bought advertising spots across key news channels and YouTube.
“We are honoured to bring the story of the unassailable Swag of Charulata Patel, an 87-year-old cricket fan. The response from Indian cricket fans has been truly heart-warming. Pepsi’s Har Ghoont Mein Swag campaign reflects the same self-belief of India today. Living in the moment, seizing new, interesting opportunities and doing it all with SWAG is an attitude that defies any age," said a PepsiCo India spokesperson to Livemint.
Last week, PepsiCo India shared an image of Patel on its Instagram handle introducing her as “Pepsi’s latest swag star".
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma had met the octogenarian fan after the match against Bangladesh and sought her blessings. Virat Kohli even gifted her the tickets for the remaining World Cup matches.
