Sydney : Australia wicketkeeper-batsman Brad Haddin has apologized for his controversial interview after the World Cup final with a Sydney-based radio station while he was hammered. A drunk Haddin had said in his radio interview after Australia’s World Cup win, that New Zealand batsmen Martin Guptill and Grant Elliott deserved the controversial send off he gave them when they were dismissed in Sunday’s one-sided title decider.

However, apologizing for the same, Haddin has said that they were celebrating a World Cup win and enjoying themselves after a long tournament, adding that in hindsight, they should have stayed off the radio, News.com.au reported. Haddin claimed that if he offended anyone, it was never his intention. During the radio interview Haddin had also painted a picture of exactly what the celebrations had been like, revealing little details about the Australian team’s booze-filled party.
