Shettar to get important position in Karnataka Government?

Former Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar who lost his Assembly seat is likely to get important position in Congress-led Government in Karnataka. Former CM Shettar had fought on a party ticket after quitting the BJP.

Cabinet reshuffle speculations!

In political circles, buzz is that some faces from UP and Karnataka will be out and new faces from Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand will be inducted in the next Cabinet reshuffle- expected this month.

Alok Mohan to be new DGP of Karnataka?

Seniormost IPS officer after Praveen Sood is Alok Mohan. A 1987 batch IPS officer, Alok Mohan is likely to be appointed new DGP of Karnataka. He was ADG Law and Order when Siddaramaiah was the Chief Minister.

Praveen Sood to be relieved today?

CBI chief designate Praveen Sood was not relieved by the Karnataka Government even on Thursday. Informed sources said that 1986 batch IPS officer Sood who is DGP Karnataka will be relieved on Friday. His file has reportedly been moved. New government is to be sworn in on Saturday.

 

Iqbal Singh Bains gets yet another extension as Chief Secretary, MP

Iqbal Singh Bains,  Chief Secretary, Madhya Pradesh, has been given yet another extension in service from June 1 to November 30, 2023. He is a 1985 batch IAS officer of MP cadre.

 

Will PK Gupta be new Chief Secretary of Delhi?

If the LG sends his recommendation, then PK Gupta may replace Naresh Kumar as Chief Secretary of Delhi. Gupta is 1989 batch IAS officer of UT cadre.

Govt invites applications for lateral recruitment

As per the requisition received from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoP&T), Government of India, applications are being invited to join the Government at the level of Joint Secretary/ Director/ Deputy Secretary on contract basis in the following Departments/ Ministries of the Government. According to information, four Joint Secretaries and 16 Directors/ Deputy Secretaries will be inducted through lateral recruitment in the above Ministries/ Departments. The detailed advertisement and instructions to the candidates will be uploaded on the UPSC’s website on May 20, 2023. Interested candidates can apply from 20th May 2023 to 19th June 2023. After selection, they will be appointed in the departments of Agriculture, Civil, Aviation, Chemical & Petrochemical, Corporate Affairs, Food & PD, Heavy Industries, Higher Education, Housing & Urban Affairs, Legal Affairs, DPIIT, Pharmaceuticals and school education.

Sanjeev Gupta appointed as DG (Pers), MES

Sanjeev Gupta has been appointed as Director General (Personnel), Military Engineer Services (MES). He is an IDSE officer.

Two new SC Judges to be sworn in today

Two newly appointed apex court judges, Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra and KV Viswanathan will be sworn in by CJI DY Chandrachud on Friday.

Ashutosh Choudhury appointed ED, Indian Bank

Ashutosh Choudhury, Chief General Manager (CGM), Punjab National Bank, has been appointed as Executive Director (ED) of Indian Bank.

Upinder Singh Matharu is also Director (HR), BHEL

Upinder Singh Matharu, Director (Power), has been assigned an additional charge of Director (Human Resources), BHEL till the appointment of a regular incumbent.

JP Srivastava is also Director (Fin), BHEL

Jai Prakash Srivastava, Director (E, R&D), has been assigned an additional charge of Director (Finance) for a period of one year.

Ambarish Barman returns to parent cadre

Ambarish Barman, Director in the Ministry of Defence, has been given premature repatriation to his parent cadre in order to avail the benefit of promotion. He is a 2005 batch IDAS officer.

Cadre of Amritpal Kaur transferred to Odisha
The cadre of Ms Amritpal Kaur has been transferred from West Bengal to Odisha  on the grounds of marriage. She is a 2021 batch IPS officer.

Additional charge of MD, NHB to Priya Ranjan extended

Additional charge for the post of Managing Director, National Horticulture Board (NHB) to Priya Ranjan, Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, has been extended for a further period of three months. She is a 1998 batch IFoS officer of Rajasthan cadre.
