Mumbai: Larsen & Toubro’s energy hydrocarbon offshore business has secured a batch of major orders from state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation for projects off India’s west coast.
The orders cover ONGC’s Pipeline Replacement Project, known as PRP-X, and a separate Well Head Platforms Project, L&T said in an exchange filing on Friday, 7 August.
Order Value
L&T did not disclose the precise value of the contracts. However, the company classifies orders valued between Rs 5,000 crore and Rs 10,000 crore as “major”.
The contracts will be executed by L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore, or LTEH Offshore, which provides integrated solutions to the offshore oil and gas industry.
Pipeline Replacement
Under PRP-X, the company will undertake the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of several subsea pipeline segments.
The project also includes associated modification work across ONGC’s offshore fields. Subsea pipelines are used to transport oil and natural gas between offshore facilities and processing infrastructure.
Four New Platforms
The Well Head Platforms Project involves the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of four platforms.
Well head platforms support offshore drilling and production operations, helping collect and manage hydrocarbons extracted from undersea reservoirs.
Offshore Capabilities
LTEH Offshore has in-house engineering capabilities, fabrication facilities and a dedicated fleet of marine vessels. It has delivered shallow-water and deep-water developments in India and overseas.
Over the past four decades, the business has handled fixed platforms, subsea pipelines and structures, brownfield upgrades and decommissioning assignments.
Company’s Response
Parthasarathi Chatterjee, Senior Vice-President and Head of L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore, said the orders strengthened the company’s position as a trusted partner in developing India’s offshore energy infrastructure.
He said the contracts reflected customer confidence in L&T’s integrated project capabilities, execution experience and commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Energy Infrastructure Push
The latest contracts deepen L&T’s partnership with ONGC and expand its offshore project portfolio. L&T is a USD 32 billion Indian multinational operating across engineering, procurement and construction projects, hi-tech manufacturing, products and services in multiple markets.
