Woman farmer consumes poison in Damoh

BHOPAL : Close on the heels of a farmer set himself ablaze in Damoh district, another woman farmer consumed pesticide and attempted suicide in Damoh district on Saturday. She has been rushed to the district hospital for treatment. The incident took place in Suhaw village under Patharia police station of the district at 7.30 am. As per Patharia police, Draupadi, 35, wife of Munna Lodhi, consumed pesticide as she was unable to bear the loss to her crops. She was rushed to the district hospital. In her statement she has attributed crop loss as the reason for taking her the extreme step. Though crops of farmers have been damaged in the region, but whether what she is saying is actual reason or there is some other reason, will only be clear after the investigations are over.
