Four day expo-cum-sale of textiles opens at Gauhar Mahal
BHOPAL : A four-day exhibition-cum-sale ‘Buyer-Seller Meet’ was inaugurated here on Friday at Gauhar Mahal. It is being organised by ministry for textile, government of India and Regional office of Textile Commissioner, Indore for the first time to promote power loom and textile products directly from weaver to buyers.
As many as 55 entrepreneurs of power loom /textile from different states including MP, UP, J$K, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Rajasthan have participated in it in which they can sell their products to buyers directly. Under the meet, they showcased a wide range of garment and home décor products including sari, suits, dress material, bed sheets, towel, carpet et al. The Ayurveda Vastra and vegetable-dyed garments are also on display which is one of the major attractions of the fair.
Speaking to Free Press Journal, Darshit Joshi, Technical Consultant of Sanjeevani Vastra, Gujarat, said, ” We displayed here 45 Ayurveda Vastra (herbal fabric) made of 100 per cent cotton yarn including home décor items like bed sheets, pillow and quilt covers. We also have men, women and kid’s wear including undergarments, night suits, kurta-paijama, shirt, kutri, dress material et al.
“Various herbs and plants have been used for dyeing these Ayurveda Vastra including turmeric, pomegranate and onion for yellow and saffron, pomegranate and neem for ivory, alovera for white, red sandal for red, red sandal wood for pink, indigo for blue, Tulsi for green et al. On other hand, the Vastra has immense benefits as it cures diseases like arthritis, asthma, diabetes, skin infection, hypertension and even for boosting immunity,” claims Joshi.
He further elaborated that “The vastra is categories in three segments. The first segment is premium segment which will be priced high and costly medicinal rich herbs. Saffron-dyed and golden leaf and thread’s products come under the segment and the price range of the products start from Rs 25,000 to one lakh. Whereas Semi precious and super segment will has costing for middle class and common man and its price range starts from Rs 1,000 and goes up to Rs 25,000. “We are displaying our products for the first tin in the fair but are only for display not for sale. It is still under evolution and will finalise at the end of the month by online marketing first, later we will displayed it on our won stores in every states,” he added.
The expo was inaugurated by Mayor Alok Sharma and some cultural performances were presented by student of Nutan College.
