BHOPAL : Former MLA Paras Sacklecha and RTI activist Ajay Dubey, in a press conference here on Wednesday, alleged that Vyapam had charged a sum of Rs 150 crore illegally from the students belonging to SC and ST categories through the examinations conducted between 2004 and 2013. Sacklecha and Dubey maintain that Vyapam’s officials charged fees despite the fact that fees cannot be charged from the students of SC and ST categories as per government rules. They both demanded to file case against Vyapam officials for illegally charging fees from the students of SC and ST categories.
Sacklecha and Dubey also raised questions on the slow pace of CBI’s investigations in Vyapam scam. They said STF had filed 212 cases in Vyapam scam while CBI has filed only 157 cases.
They asked as to which are those 55 cases, in which CBI is not probing. They said until and unless the CBI investigates from all angles, the truth would not come out.
Sacklecha and Dubey have also asked estranged IAS officers namely Ramesh Thete and Shashi Karnavat to support them in baring the Vyapam scam. Karnavat has said that she would support them but Thete has decided to keep himself away from Vyapam issue. Karnavat was supposed to come to the press conference but she did not come. Government Employee Federation Class Three, President Arun Dwivedi was also present in press conference. Dwivedi claimed that the government is harassing Thete and Karnavat.
