Vendors booked for stone pelting at BMC officials

BHOPAL: Some of the BMC officials sustained injuries in an incident of stone pelting at ward no-4 (zone-1), Bairagarh on Wednesday. A case has been registered against five vendors for pelting stones. Stones were pelted at the BMC’s anti-encroachment team which had gone to remove the vendors at Bairagarh. The case was registered against five agitators on a complaint filed by Health officer Kiran Chaudhary.

Vendors damaged the BMC Vehicles and created a ruckus in protest. The issue was raised in the special meeting of Parishad that people face problem in negotiating traffic because of encroachment made by vendors. Besides, on the basis of a CM Helpline complaint, BMC team also removed encroachment at TT Nagar, Rangmahal Talkies, Katju Hospital, Jawahar Chowk, Board Office Square.

Zone officer Arif Khan said, “BMC team had gone to remove vendors from ward no-4 in Bairagarh, and the vendors became furious and started pelting BMC team with stones leaving some of the BMC team members injured.

They also damaged the BMC vehicles. An FIR has been lodged against five vendors.”
