The name of union minister Uma Bharati is once again doing rounds as BJP candidate to be fielded against former chief minister Digvijaya Singh. Uma visited RSS office on Friday and met national BJP general secretary Ramlal. This led to speculation that Uma may get ticket from Bhopal seat.
Uma’s name came to limelight earlier when Singh was given ticket by Congress party. Uma had then denied contesting election and said any BJP worker was able to defeat Digvijaya. Uma had also said she would campaign against Singh in Bhopal.

Several names including former chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, union minister Narendra Singh Tomar and mayor Alok Sharma are also doing rounds for Bhopal seat but BJP’s central leaders have yet to take a call. With BJP not deciding its candidate from Bhopal seat, Singh is leading in election campaigning.
Chouhan may get ticket from Vidisha seat. Kailash Vijayvargiya may get ticket from Indore. The party could not find strong candidate on these seats and that is why it is considering fielding its stalwart leaders.
