Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A tragedy hit a woman after a stationery freight train suddenly started moving while she was crossing the track from under the coach in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior. The accident was reported from Gwalior’s Birlanagar Railway Station. The victim was brutally run over and died on the spot.
According to information, the incident occurred on Wednesday morning when the woman was trying to cross from under a stationary freight train standing on Platform No. 1.
However, the train started moving suddenly while she was still underneath the train and, unfortunately, she was brutally crushed.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Keshkali Jatav, a resident of Gormi and wife of Man Singh Jatav.
Body sent for post-mortem
Head Constable Parshuram Sharma stated that the woman was in a hurry to change platforms and took the risky and prohibited route of crossing from under the train.
As she was crossing, the train suddenly began to move, leading to the fatal accident. People present at the scene immediately informed the Government Railway Police (GRP). The GRP team reached the spot quickly and sent the body for post-mortem.
The railway authorities have repeatedly urged passengers to use the foot overbridge (FOB) or subway to change platforms, as passing under trains is extremely dangerous and can be fatal, as seen in this unfortunate case.
