BHOPAL : Raising slogan of patriotism, hundreds of people participated in Tiranga-Rally taken out under leadership of retired Judge Ashok Pandey in protest against JNU incident.
It was totally non-political rally and mass participated in the rally. These rallies were taken out from four places-Iqbal Maidan, Lily Talkies, ISBT, and Bittan Market and all ultimately culminated at Depot Chowhra. The main objective was to give message in public about their constitutional duty toward the nation. As rallies proceeded, the people associated with rally.
Ashok Pandey, retired Judge, while talking to Free Press, said, “No one has been allowed to speak against integrity and sovereignty. Freedom does not mean that one should speak against integrity and sovereignty of the county and if any one does, he is misinterpreting the Constitutional clause in which freedom of speech has been mentioned.”
The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday organised the state-wide Dhikkar Diwas to protest against the anti-national sloganeering on Jawaharlal Nehru University campus.
The state BJP president attended the Dhikkar Divas organised at Board Office Square. State BJP president Nandkumar Chauhan alleged that the Congress wants to get in power at any cost, the support of JNU anti-national element clears the motive. He claimed that the JNU students union president Kanhaiya Kumar raised slogans against the Indian constitution and protested hanging of Afzal Guru, the mastermind of terrorist attack on Parliament.
The AICC vice president has supported the students’ agitation which was anti-national. When asked about Congress state president Arun Yadav going to hoist tricolour at RSS office in Indore, he replied that if the Congress wants to show its patriotism, they should protest Rahul Gandhi’s support in JNU matter. However, he evaded the question about tricolour hoisting. While answering a question, he replied that the “If the PDP opposes hanging of Afzal Guru the BJP will not be going to support the party in Kashmir”.
Very few supporters were witnessed at the dharna site, including MLA Surendra Nath Singh, BDA president Om Yadav, BMC president Surjeet Singh were also present.
