MP Congress committee has sought AICC’s approval for suspension of former Rajya Sabha member Satyavrat Chaturvedi over anti-party activities. Chaturvedi had been sulking ever since the party denied ticket to his son Nitin from Rajnagar seat and instead fielded the sitting MLA Vikram Singh in the upcoming polls.

Denied ticket, Nitin joined the Samajwadi Party and entered the electoral fray from the seat as its candidate. As father Chaturvedi has been openly supporting his son, claims the MPCC letter. Besides, Chaturvedi has openly challenged the AICC to take action him. Congress state vice-president Prakash Jain said that the MPCC has forwarded the report to the AICC. “Only AICC is authorised to take action in such a matter,” he said.
