Slaughter house will not be opened in village: Bhargava

BHOPAL : Minister for panchayat and rural development and district in-charge minister Gopal Bhargava, in a meeting of district planning committee here on Monday, said the slaughter house would not be opened in the village on the state capital outskirts. MLA Rameshwar Sharma had opposed the shifting of slaughter house from the city to the nearby village as per the Bhopal Municipal Corporation planning after the NGT ordered its removal because of polluting the city’s atmosphere.

Bhargava also directed the officials to immediately start the work of repairing roads, which have been damaged due to heavy rains and flooding in the district. He said the potholes should be filled up on priority basis and road traffic should be resumed.

Bhargava said heavy rains have damaged roads and traffic is being affected. Road construction agency must pay attention to this. The roads which are under guarantee period should be repaired by contractor. Potholes should be filled soon, culverts should be repaired. Damaged roads should be repaired after rains.

Minister Bhargava said municipal corporation and district administration should prepare an action plan which would ensure release of rain water in case of flooding. Such areas should be earmarked and adequate space for water release should be ensured. Encroachment on Nullahs and drains should be removed. He said the officials of district administration and municipal corporations have worked together regarding relief work in floods. Rs 23.71 crore have been distributed in the district as relief. Members in the meeting said survey should be conducted in the areas where it has not been done and relief should be given to those who are eligible.
