BHOPAL: Internationally fame tourist place Khajuraho was hottest city in country on Sunday as it sizzled at 47.2 degree Celsius. In addition to Khajuraho, in many cities day temperature hovered around 47 degree Celsius.
Bhopal’ day temperature surpassed 45 degree Celsius on Sunday. Gwalior recorded 46.6 and Damoh settled at 46.5 degree Celsius.
Besides, heat wave has taken the western MP into its grip and many parts like Gwalior, Sagar, Bhopal, Chambal divisions and districts like Satna, Rewa, Umaria, Hoshangabad, Khargone, Ratlam and Shajapur are expected face brunt of heatwave.
Eastern districts of MP-Jabalpur, Shahdol divisions and districts like Rewa, Sidhi Singrauli, Morena, Hoshangabad and Betul are likely to experience light rain in the next 24 hours.
Bhopal recorded a maximum temperature of 45.3 degree Celsius while it recorded a minimum temperature of 29.4 degree Celsius. Indore recorded a maximum temperature of 42.7 degree Celsius while it recorded a minimum temperature of 26.6 degree Celsius.
According to Meteorological department, heatwave conditions are likely to continue over western parts of Madhya Pradesh.
North-South trough is seen extending from the cyclonic circulation over Northeast MP to Southern parts across Vidarbha, South Central Maharashtra and interior Karnataka. Due to this system, light to moderate rains may occur at some places of eastern parts of MP and adjoining states.
