DHAR : Tension has been mounting in Dhar town ahead of Vasant Panchami as leaders of Hindu organisations said that they will perform puja for the whole day at Bhojshala on Friday (February 12) to mark the Vasant Panchami, while on other hand leaders of Muslim community contended that the puja should be performed on Saturday as the Vasant Panchami is falling on Saturday.
Echoing the demands of the Hindu organisations, Dhar MP Savitri Thakur and Manawar BJP MLA Ranjana Baghel also said the puja should be performed whole day on Vasant Panchami.
Meanwhile, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Narendranand Saraswati of Semerupeeth Kashipuri visited Bhojshala on Thursday. Members of local unit of Hindu Maha Sabha accorded him warm welcome on his arrival. However, city magistrate Bihari Singh prevented him from entering the Bhojshala and instructed him not to perform any puja inside the premises.
Only when the Shankaracharya told the city magistrate that he was here to inspect the monument, the Hindu sheer was allowed to enter the premises.
He spent nearly 30 minutes in Bhojshala and also answered the queries of journalists.
Meanwhile, district administration has instructed the owners of all hotels, lodges of the town to keep records of people staying there. District collector Shriman Shukla on Tuesday also chaired a meeting of owners of city’s hotels, dharmashalas and lodges and instructed them to keep records of every people, staying at their hotels. Maintain the records of identity proof and mobile number of every occupant, the collector told to the owners.
