BHOPAl : Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has hailed rail budget 2016-17 presented by Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu in Parliament today. He said that this budget aims at making rail journey more convenient, especially for common people. The budget reflects foresightedness and creative thinking of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Chauhan said that the efforts to transform railways have reached a definite milestone now. All possibilities of investment have been explored to expand railway infrastructure. Madhya Pradesh has been given a gift that Habibganj railway station will soon be developed as a model station.

The initiative to make railway stations more beautiful and well equipped in this budget is laudable. Chauhan said that the Railways Minister has made efforts to modernise rail facilities. Antyodaya train will have many facilities for the poor. Significant measure has been taken by considering measures to ensure zero accident. Passengers have been given all facilities, but neither fare nor freight has been increased. Initiative for better use of railway land underlines foresightedness. Maternal service, special arrangements for senior citizens and disabled persons and 33% quotas for women in seat reservation are highly important initiatives.

Yadav alleged that Rail budget has ignored the interests of Madhya Pradesh. He claimed that Lok Sabha Speaker, 26 elected MPs, 8 Rajya Sabha members and 5 Union Ministers are from Madhya Pradesh but it is really condemnable that the interests of the state have been ignored.
