BHOPAL : Industries Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia, addressing a workshop at the Academy of Administration here on Tuesday, said that a regional centre of Indian Institute of Packaging will soon be established in the state. A proposal in this regard will be sent to the Central government.
The topic of the workshop was ‘Reviving Sick Industrial Units: Ease of Doing Business and Vendor Development.’
Industries Commissioner VL Kantarao was also present on the occasion.
Scindia said that to promote investment, it was important to encourage all types of industrial units. Sick industrial units need to be revived. A detailed discussion was held in the workshop on how to remove the obstacles in the way of revival of sick units with the help of the government. She said sick industrial units will be identified and their database would be prepared at the district level. Scindia directed the officials concerned to upload the policies of other departments regarding MSME industries on the website of the department.
Industries Minister also discussed the problems in reviving sick industrial units with the office-bearers of “Laghu Udhyog Bharati Sangh” and representatives of various industries.
