Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said MP and Rajasthan agreed to ink a pact after signing a MoU over the Parvati-Kali Sindh river project. Yadav made the statement at a cabinet meeting on Monday. A précis of the agreement will be put up before the cabinet within a fortnight, he said.
Yadav said the project worth Rs 75,000 crore would help the farmers irrigate six lakh hectares of 2, 094 villages in 11 districts of MP, like Guna, Shivpuri, Sehore, Devas, Rajgarh, Ujjain, Agar, Malwa, Indore, Shajapur, Mandsaur and Morena.
The project will also help fulfill the needs of industrial houses and potable water of villagers, he said, adding that 21 dams and barrages will be constructed in the state as part of the project. The cost of the work to be done in MP as part of the project is Rs 36,800 crore, he said.
A MoU over preparing DPR of the project was signed in the presence of Jal Shakti minister of the Union Government, the chief ministers and deputy chief ministers, additional chief secretaries and secretaries of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh on January 28 this year.
The MP government presented the draft agreement of the revised Parvati-Kali Sindh- Chambal Link Project-cum- Rajasthan East Rahasthan Canal Project to the Central Government on October 25 this year. In the draft, it was requested that the points of MP made in the MOA should be included, so that an approval can be obtained from the government on the final draft.
UK, Germany to be GIS partner states
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said UK and Germany will be partner states in Global Investors’ Summit (GIS) to be held in Bhopal in February next year.
