BHOPAL : A 32-year-old property dealer was shot at over monetary dispute in Bairagarh on Monday. Police have registered a case of attempt to murder under Section 307 of IPC. Two bike-borne men, known to the victim, opened fire on him. No one has been arrested so far.
The property dealer Sabir told the police that he had lent money to his acquaintance Lala Lukman, a resident of Gandhi Nagar which he now wanted back. Late on Sunday night, Lala and Gayasuddin reached Sabir’s house, where, following a dispute among them, Lala shot at the property dealer with a pistol and then both fled from the spot. In the attack, victim sustained bullet injuries on his thigh and was undergoing treatment in a hospital. A case has been registered by Bairagarh police station under IPC section 307 (attempt to murder) and various sections of the Arms Act.
SHO Bairagarh Sudhir Arjariya said, “Prima facie, the reason behind the attack appears to be business rivalry. Sabir Khan, 32, a resident of Camp 12 Mosque in Bairagarh was at his house on Sunday night when two youths, riding a white Activa, opened fire at him with a country-made pistol and fled from the spot. Sabir was rushed to a nearby hospital by the family members, where doctors said he was out of danger”. The SHO said investigations were underway.
