Patwari falls in Lokayukta dragnet while taking bribe

BHOPAL: The Lokayukt police on Monday evening caught a Patwari red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000 for transferring the title in the land records.

According to TI Manoj Mishra of Lokayukt police, Avadhesh Nagar, resident of Hinoti Sadak village, Tehsil Berasia had filed a complaint that accused Nihal Singh Jat, Patwari of Halka number 38 Harrakheda, Tehsil Berasia was demanding for a bribe of Rs 10,000 for transferring the title in land records.

Nagar had bought a land in his wife Shanti Nagar’s name and Jat had been asking for a sum of Rs 10,000 to transfer the land record in her name.

Nagar filed a complaint at Lokayukt on May 13. It was decided that Nagar would pay the first installment of Rs 4,000 on Monday evening. The Lokayukt team following Nagar’s complaint nabbed Jat while he was accepting the bribe.
