Pardi gang held for theft at MLA’s house

BHOPAL : Kamla Nagar police on Thursday claimed having solved a burglary at the house of former MLA Choudhary Rakesh Singh at Rivera Township on December 16, 2015 with the arrest of members of a Pardi gang. However, one of the accomplices is still absconding.

The arrested accused have been identified as Anil, son of Kishan Pardi, his wife Tulish alias Kulish and his brother in-law Durbind alias Durvendra, 17, son of Hira Kunwar. Nikam Padri of Sironj was also involved in the burglary at the MLA’s house. They were rounded up from ‘Pardi Dera’ at Ehasan Nagar under Nishatpura police station.

A case was registered in Kamla Nagar police station following a complaint lodged by the Singh’s gunman, Rajendra Dixit. His house was locked for six days since December 10. The accused escaped with booty worth lakhs of rupees, but exact loss will be ascertained once the leader, who is still out of station, returns, the police added. Jewellery and utensils worth Rs 6 lakh were stolen. Items worth Rs 3 lakh have been recovered from the accused.

On the basis of CCTV camera footage, police confirmed that burglary was committed between 1am and 3am.

During the investigation, police had also recovered a shirt and a shawl from a room and a rod used by the burglars to break the locks. Chaudhary Rakesh Singh family had gone to Delhi during this period. Therefore, on the basis of modus operandi, police teams were deployed to trace out the accused.
