BHOPAL: OP Shukla, OSD of former minister Laxmikant Sharma, interacting with the media on court premises said that as the PMT fraud was before court and probe is being carried on, everything will come to light. He refused to disclose the name of ‘ big fish’ involved in PMT fraud.
STF inspector Indresh Tripathi talking to media said, ” We produced OP Shukla in court of CJM Pankaj Singh Maheshwari and he has been sent on police remand for 7 days. We will interrogate him for his role in PMT- fraud case as he was OSD of higher education minister”.
Taking a dig at STF for its alleged biased attitude, Defense counsel Rakesh Mishra argued, ” On the basis of statement of system analyst Nitin Mahindra, former minister was let after just interrogation but OP Shukla has already been interrogated for long period and there is no need of police remand.
Shukla simply assisted the minister and he did nothing more, STF is mainly trying to know the money trail but the interrogation is already complete and there is no need of further police remand”. With the arrest of two more candidates, the total count of arrested accused has reached twelve. SHO, Jehangirabad, BS Chauhan while talking to the ‘ Free Press’ said that the arrested accused have been identified as Krishnakant Shamra, who hails from Morena and Manish Singh adav from Bhind.
Chauhan further said that during the further interrogation Sharma told police that he had given an amount of Rs 4 lakh to an agent to pass the written examination.Similarly, Manish also confessed giving Rs 3 lakh to the agent to be a cop.
Earlier, on Thursday too, the police nabbed two accused Rajkumar Singh and Jitu Dhoni while on Wednesday, Rahul Singh adav of Bhind, Bali Singh and Harendra Singh of Agra, Rishikesh Rawat of Morena and Satyanarayan adav of Devariya in UP were arrested and Ranbir, Sanjay and Sanjeev adav were arrested on Tuesday.
