BHOPAL: The one of the worst rail disaster in recent times in the early hours of Sunday left the people in the city stunned when they came to know about a number of people getting killed after the ill-fated Indore-Patna Express met with an accident near Kanpur.
Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reached Kanpur after getting information about the mishap and reached Hallet Hospital, Kanpur where the injured have been admitted. Chouhan said that air ambulance facility will be provided to injured, in case there is any need. The state government will bear all medical expenses of treatment of the injured. On instruction of CM, parliamentary affairs minister Narottam Mishra also visited the hospital.
The CM reached Kanpur after the train disaster and met injured passengers in Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital which is popularly known as Hallet Hospital. There are 54 injured passengers admitted in hospital for the treatment. Out of 54 passengers, there are 20 passengers of Madhya Pradesh undergoing treatment in the hospital. Chouhan said that all possible help would be extended to injured persons for the treatment. The state government officials will stay. CEO Chhatarpur Zila Panchayat, Chandra Mohan Thakur has been sent by the government to oversee arrangements.
CM Chouhan said that ambulance facilities would be provided for sending bodies in near about areas. Help from Railway will also be taken, the CM added.
