Dhar : Police have seized 1125 boxes of illegal liquor being transported through Rajgarh road on Tuesday. Driver and helper were also taken into custody. The estimated cost of the boxes is supposed to be Rs 1 crore.
As per the information received, police superintendent Rajesh Hingankar got a tip off regarding the smuggling of illegal liquor on Gujarat road. Taking the information seriously, he constituted a police team under the leadership of Rajgarh station in-charge R Patil. Acting promptly, the team blockaded the Gujarat road and started a searching drive. During this, they stopped a truck and found a container inside it loaded with 1125 boxes of country made and foreign liquor. Police arrested both the accused and seized the consignment. The estimated cost of the liquor is Rs 1 crore.
Police identified the accused as driver Baldev Singh and helper Pargat Singh, both residents of Kapurthala district, Punjab. During the primary investigation, they confessed that they were smuggling liquor to Ahmadabad. Police informed that they are being interrogated.
This arrest was accomplished with the efforts of SDOP Kukshi, Sohanpal Singh, station-charge R Patil, and other police officials. SP Hingankar announced to give price money to the team.
Bakaner: Same incident was reported in the town, wherein police succeeded in nabbing a truck carrying illegal liquor. They also got a tip off regarding the smuggling of liquor from Dhamnod. After getting the information, station in-charge Jyoti Patel and her team under the leadership of SDOP Dheeraj Babbar, started a search drive. On the basis of suspicion they chased a truck. Getting a hint, driver managed to escape and left the truck on Bhanpura road. SDOP Babbar informed that truck was carrying 300 boxes of illegal liquor worth RS 7 lakhs. He said that further investigations are on. In this arrest, head constable Arvind Bhadoriya, constable Mahesh Baghel, Mahendra Patel, Deepak, Sainik Shivram Jaat Mohan made commendable efforts.
