BHOPAL : Meteorological department has issued warning for heavy rains in state capital over the next 24 hours. State capital had recorded 4 cm rainfall by Tuesday noon.
However, Heavy alert has been declared for heavy rain at many places in Madhya Pradesh. Moisture incursion is occurring from Arabian Sea.
Heavy alert has been declared for Sehore, Hoshangabad, Raisen districts. Alert has been announced for Narsinghpur, Jabalpur, Vidisha, Chhindwara, Seoni, Balaghat, Betul, Jhabua and Alirajpur districts.
Besides, heavy rainfall would occur at few places in Indore, Ujjain divisions, Bhopal, Vidisha, Rajgarh, Sagar, Jabalpur, Mandla, Anuppur, Dindori, Shivpuri, Seopurkalan, Gwalior and Guna districts for next 24 hours.
As almost all the roads developed potholes so users face problems in negotiating traffic. Torrential rain disrupted traffic creasing traffic jam. Vehicles remained stranded for hours. Traffic jam like condition was at Press Complex, Jyoti Talkies, DB Mall, Jail Road, VIP Road, Peer Gate, Royal Market and other areas.
Buses of educational institutions and public transport were stranded in traffic jam. School going children heaved sigh of relief as it was holiday in schools.
