BHOPAL : Madhya Pradesh Urdu Academy is going to organise a two-day programme to felicitate national and regional-level litterateurs at State museum from August 26 to mark the centenary year of noted authors Ismat Chugtai and Rajendra Singh Bedi.
Addressing the media persons, secretary of Madhya Pradesh Urdu Akademi Nusrat Mehdi said, “We are felicitating Dr Sadik with ‘Mir Taki Mir Samman’, Hakaki Al Kasmi with ‘Hakim Qamrul Hassan Samman’ for Urdu journalism, Kasim Niyaji with ‘Hamid Syed Khan Samman’ under national level award for year 2011-12. Besides, we would also award ‘Siraj Mir Khan Sahar Samman’, ‘Mohammed Ali Taj Samman’ ‘Kaif Bhopali Samman’ and others under regional level award.”
Mehdi further elaborates “On 27 August, a Mushaira would also be organised in which some well-known shaiars and poets across country would participate. These are Affaque Ahmed ali, Ali Abbas Umeed, Nasir Parwaj, Rasheed Indorie, Tilak Raj Paras, Taban Jiyai, Aaftab Aarif, Tahoor Mansoori Nigah, Kamaruddin Bartar, Mehtab Aalam, Anjum Barambankawi, and Anis Sultana and others.”
“Under this programme, Afaque Ahmed, Professor Haider Abbas Rizvi, Dr. Mahmood Sheikh would deliver speech on Ismat Chugtai and Rajendra Singh Bedi to mark the centenary of renowned author and playwright Ismat Chughtai and Rajinder Singh Bedi,” she added.
