Bhopal: The feedback on disrupted power supply ahead of Lok Sabha elections has left Chief Minister Kamal Nath concerned. Nath has been receiving complaints from across the state over power cut. During election campaigning, CM got feedback that farmers were quite annoyed over interrupted power supply. Nath, in a meeting with energy minister Priyavrat Singh and officers, voiced serious concern over power outage in the state.

In the first phase, in state, Chhindwara, Jabalpur, Sidhi, Mandla, Shahdol and Balaghat will go for polling on April 29. Congress leaders from these seats have apprised party state chief and CM Nath about the current status of power supply in their respective constituencies. They informed Nath that power cut was frequent than before. Sources said power supply in Chhindwara too has declined.

Nath also directed the officers to instantly provide him a report of power availability, its distribution and power cut in previous month. He has directed the officials to fix accountability in this matter.  Nath has asked these officers as to why there were complaints of power cut when power was available in surplus.

Nath has also asked to inquire about the reason behind complaints of power cuts during election time.  Nath said the complaints of undeclared power cut is a serious matter and common consumers should get 24 hours power supply while 10 hours power supply for agriculture works should be ensured.
