Eid to be celebrated in Ratlam today

Ratlam : All preparations have been made for the peaceful celebrations of Eid on October 6 in the city and adequate security arrangements have been made.

Talking to media persons today, at the Control room, the District Collector, Dr Sanjay Goyal said that no procession will be taken out and Shahar Qazi will reach directly to Idgah by his own mode of transport. He said that a delegation of Muslim community met to him and informed him that Shahar Qazi will directly reach to Idgah and no procession will be taken out as per previous years. Dr Goyal claimed that peace has returned in the city and industrial area and GRP police stations areas are made totally free from curfew. But, in the sensitive areas identified, the curfew shall continue and the relaxation period in those areas have further been enhanced. He also said that on October 6 there would be no curfew in those sensitive areas from 6 AM to 8 PM while it was 10AM to 8 PM.

He said that night curfew shall remain effective from 12 in the night to 6 AM at station road and Manek Chowk Police stations areas. In the sensitive areas on October 6, the curfew shall come in to force from 8 PM onwards while in other areas of Manek Chowk and station road police station it will come into force from 12 midnight. He said that sensitive areas are Sheranipura, Mochipura, Kajipura, Bhoiwada, Shanigali, Hakimwada and Millat Nagar. Collector said that double and triple riding on the motor bikes will remain banned from 8 PM onwards in the night in the whole city. Section 144 is continued to be effective in the city and no programme will be permitted to be organized unless permission is granted.

Meanwhile SP Dr Ashish said that large-scale prohibitive measures are under process and such persons are being identified who were responsible in some or the other way in creating disturbance in the society. He said that a work-plan has been finalized under which strict implementation of the decision will be carried out. He said that a close vigil is being kept on the social media and the police team is working on it. He also said that holding of the arms will also be reviewed and if any organization or its members are found involved in anti social activities, immediate actions will be taken.

Regarding two firing cases which led to imposition of curfew in the city he said that police was further conducting interrogations.
