BURHANPUR : The festival of Eid was celebrated with great zeal in the city with main namaz offered at Sindhibasti situated Shahjani Eidgah. Hafiz Mohammad Raees administered namaz for around 10,000 devotees on the occasion. Similarily, a large number of devotees thronged Ganpati Naka situated Nai Kadam-E-Rasool and offered prayers. The people prayed for peace and proper rain in the city. After completion of the namaz, the community people hugged each other as per the tradition and expressed best of wishes on the occasion.
MP and BJP state president Nandkumar Singh Chauhan, mayor Anil Bhonsale, corporation president Manoj Tarawala, former mayor Atul Patel, Congress committee district president Ajaysingh Raghuvanshi, Ismile Ansari and others reached Eidgaah and wished the people. The in-charge collector Prakash Rewal, SP Anil Singh Kushwah, SDM K R Badole and commissioner Suresh Rewal were also present.
