BHOPAL: A two-day concert ‘Durlabh Vadya Prasang 2015’ will begin at Bharat Bhavan form today. It is being organised by Ustad Alauddin Khan Academy of Music and Art, Bhopal in the memory of a renowned Sarangi player Padamshree late Ustad Lateef Khan.
It is noteworthy that every year academy organises the Durlabh Vadya Prasang for the music lovers of the city.
The concert will be opened with an award ceremony. Under the ceremony, a renowned name in Dagar Gharana ‘Bahuddin Khan will be conferred with Ustad Lateef Khan Samman 2015 – 16. He will also perform Rudra Veena recital during the programme. Also on the first day Ustad Lateef Khan Student’s Group will be performing on stage. The students will perform Sarangi Vrind on stage.
Surbahar recital will be performed by Rajiv Janardan from New Delhi on the concluding day of the concert. It will be followed by the performance by Sugati Bhadugadi from Kolkata. She will play Mandolin. Then the programme will be followed with the performance of a Sarangi Jugalbandi by Fayyaz Khan, Sarfaraz Khan from Bangalore. The artists will be accompanied by Salim Allahwale on Tabla, Hitendra Dixit on Tabla and Akhilesh Gundecha on Pakahwaj.
