BHOPAL : A day before its state-wide protest against hike in VAT on petrol and diesel by the State government, the Congress, on Friday, held token demonstrations at many places including Bhopal. The protests were held by different outfits associated with the party. Workers formed a human chain in Indore. Others staged demonstration in Jabalpur. In Bhopal, youth Congress workers led by former LS area president Manoj Shukla took out a demonstration in bullock cart. Carrying a two-wheeler on it, they reached petrol pump to get fuel. “This was a token demonstration to draw people’s attention on the government’s decision to hike tax,” said Shukla. The party will hold demonstrations on Saturday at all district headquarters. PCC president Arun Yadav will attend the demonstration in Vidisha.
