DHAR/ MANAWAR : Divisional commissioner Sanjay Dubey and additional director general of police (Indore range) Vipin Masheshwar on Friday made a surprise inspection of the disputed monument of Bhojshala ahead of Vasant Panchami festival and took the stock of security arrangements there.
District collector Shriman Shukla, superintendent of police Rajesh Hingankar, SDM Jitendra Singh Couhan, city magistrate Bihari Singh, CSP Vikram Singh, executive engineer RK Jain, assistant commissioner (tribal) Brijesh Pandey, tehsildar Parmar and other officers also accompanied them.
The officers supervised the arrangements at the Control Room set up at the Bhoj Kanya School and discussed the matter with the officers concerned. The festival of Vasant Panchami, to be celebrated on February 12 this year, has always been a challenging task for the administration.
Director general of Archeological Survey of India (ASI) Rakesh Tiwari on Monday had issued a notification to find an amicable solution and celebrate the festival in peaceful and harmonious atmosphere.
According to the ASI’s order, members of Muslim community can offer namaz between 1 pm to 3 pm on February 12, while Hindus can offer prayer at Bhojshala from early morning (dawn) to 12 noon. Hindus can bring flowers, rice as puja samagri with them. However, this notification is especially in place for the February 12 festival only. But some groups of both the communities have been opposing the ASI’s order.
Peace panel meeting held
A meeting of the peace panel was also held at the Manawar police station. Speaking to the members, additional collector (Dhar) AK Singi urged the panel members and officials to leave no stone unturned to maintain the law and order in the city during the festival. He said maintaining peace in the town is also the equal responsibility of every citizen. Additional SP Rai Singh Narvaria also addressed the members. Shahar Qazi Jameel Siddaqui, Sadrullah, Ayyub Hussain, corporator Laxmi Jat, journalist Pawan Patidar, Kailash Rathod, Iqbal Mansorie, Irshad Ali, and Suresh Patidar to expressed their views at the meeting. SDM Satyendra Singh, SDOP Dheeraj Babbar, SHO Ranjeet Singh Baghel, and Gandhwani SHO Anita Deurwal were also present on the occasion.
