BHOPAL : After an anti-encroachment drive at Kalapani left their houses levelled to the ground, the affected families left at the mercy of elements spent entire night and day under the open sky in intense heat. They are on their own managing everything themselves after the district administration swooped down on the illegally constructed houses.
The affected families met MLA Rameshwar Sharma on Saturday. On Friday, he was in Delhi and when he arrived in the city, the dislocated people thronged him.
They raised the voice against inhuman action they were meted out at the hand of the district administration. In turn, the MLA called on collector Nishant Warbade who assured him for distributing land to the affected families which they would get soon.
MLA Rameshwar Sharma said, “We called on collector Nishant Warwade and he ensured us of patta distribution.
Nearly 300 families will be distributed patta at Kalapani. We have made arrangement of water tankers for them. We are also arranging facilities for them as they have no option but to live in open space at present.”
“It is an inhuman act done by the district administration. People had come to meet me and I assured all possible help to affected families. Actually patta were allotted to them but they got houses constructed at some other places. So now the affected families would be distributed patta and they will be settled at Kalapani,” Sharma said, adding, “I told the collector that if district administration wants to remove encroachers it should treat all encroachers equally and it should be like a campaign.”
