BHOPAL : The western parts of the state, including Bhopal, may have to wait for rains for at least a week as there is no system over Gujarat or Rajasthan as of now.
Bhopal, Indore, Hoshangabad, Ujjain and other divisions of western region of the state may face a dry spell of up to 10 days.
As far as the eastern parts are concerned, there is a system over Bay of Bengal but it may be some time before it precipitates. Its slow movement has delayed rains in the eastern region of the state. But once it gains momentum, it will bring rains to the eastern region in the state.
However, as per the weatherman, heavy rain is likely at isolated places in Neemuch, Mandsaur, Jhabua, Ratlam, Rajgarh and Alirajpur during the next 24 hours. Alert has also been sounded for Jhabua, Alirajpur, Ratlam and Ujjain districts.
Director Meteorological department Dr Anupam Kashyapi said, “The system which is over Bay of Bengal is stationary.
But once it starts moving, it will move toward north and then south-west and precipitate in eastern Madhya Pradesh.
At the same time, if, there is any system over Gujarat and Rajasthan, it will start precipitation in Western region of the state.
Therefore, in this way, entire Madhya Pradesh will be covered in first week of August. Otherwise only eastern MP will experience rain.”
