Chauhan meets Modi, invites him to Kisan Sammelan

BHOPAL : Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday and congratulated him on the launching of the new crop insurance scheme. Chauhan said the scheme was historic, which takes into account every aspect related to agriculture and farmers. The scheme would help in minute study of every aspect related to development of farmers and profession of agriculture.

Chauhan also invited PM Modi to the proposed ‘Kisan Sammelan’ in the state as chief guest. Chauhan told him that the farmers wish to felicitate PM Modi on launching of new crop insurance scheme. Chauhan also informed PM Modi of Madhya Pradesh being awarded ‘Krishi Karman Award’ for fourth time consecutively. He told that the state is setting new records in the field of agriculture.

Chauhan apprised Modi of the flagship schemes of the state. He said that Madhya Pradesh has also started a scheme on the lines of Start Up Fund for the entrepreneurs of the state. Chauhan also apprised Modi of the preparations made in connection with ‘Simhastha Kumbh’, which would begin from April 22 in Ujjain.

CM seeks army help to build pontoon bridges for Simhastha

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan met Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar in New Delhi on Thursday. Chauhan urged the Defence Minister to get 11 Pontoon bridges made in Khandwa and Ujjain districts in view of the ‘Simhastha’ to be organised in Ujjain. Chauhan told the Minister that around 5 crore devotees from across the world would take part in the ‘Mahakumbh’ and most of them would also visit Omkareshwar in Khandwa and Maheshwar in Khargone. For the convenience of devotees coming in large numbers, it would be necessary to build pontoon bridges.
