Vatsapalan Protsahan Yojna
“Doctors are selecting beneficiaries who would agree to receive only Rs 5 thousand and leave the rest for them”
Shajapupr : State government has introduced ‘Vatsapalan Protsahan Yojna’ to help cattle owners take good care of ‘deshi’ cows and their calves, but veterinary doctors are appropriating the scheme for their personal benefits, alleged cattle owners of Shajapur city.
They said that defying the prescribed norms, veterinary doctors are arbitrarily selecting cattle owners who hand in glove with them could help them pocket economic gains from the scheme.
“According to the scheme, a ‘deshi’ cow owner is entitled to receive Rs 5 thousand as motivation amount and further Rs 12 thousand per year to buy fodder for the cattle. But, the veterinary doctors are selecting the beneficiaries who would agree to receive only Rs 5 thousand and allow them (veterinary doctors) to keep the rest of the amount,” they added.
I will look into the matter and action would be taken against anyone found guilty in misusing government scheme-NS Sikarwar, joint director, veterinary hospital administration.
THE SCHEME
State government has introduced ‘Vatsapalan Protsahan Yojna’ scheme to help the owners of healthy ‘deshi’ cows, which provides about four litre milk per day. Under the scheme, government veterinary doctors shall survey their respective areas to find eligible cattle owners. Once approved by a veterinary doctor, the cattle owner is registered in government records and receives the amount entitled under the scheme. As per the scheme, veterinary doctors first pay Rs 5 thousand as motivation amount and later Rs 12 thousand per year towards the fodder for
cattle.
