BHOPAL : The ongoing burglary spat continues in the state capital as two more incidents of house break-ins were reported from Hanumanganj and Gautam Nagar area respectively on Wednesday. In total, the worth of stolen households was reported to be more than Rs 4.5 lakh.
In the first incident which was reported from Hanumanganj police station, a band of thieves sneaked into the locked house of a trader located at Rajdev Colony and escaped with gold jewellery all to the tune of Rs 4 lakh in between Nov 22 to 25.
The incident came to light when the victim trader returned house and spotted the locks of shutter broken and burnt entry door of house and gold jewellery missing from the almirah after which he reported the matter at the police station.
Police said that complainant Raja (47), son of Ramesh Chotrani, a resident of Rajdev Colony, owns Ramesh Engineering shop at Bharat Talkies and used to sell parts of tractors and heavy agricultural machines.
In his complaint the victim trader stated that on Nov 22, he along with other family members went to Indore to attend a marriage ceremony of his niece and returned Bhopal on Wednesday night and was shocked to see that his house was burgled and thieves escaped with gold jewellery worth Rs 4 lakh from his house.
Subsequently, following his complaint, a case under sections 457 and 380 of the IPC has been registered against unidentified thieves and search was on to nab them.
Meanwhile, in another incident, unidentified thieves have stolen gold jewellery worth Rs 1.5 lakh from a marriage garden in Kainchi Chhola.
A case has been registered at Gautam Nagar police station following the complaint of the bridegroom’s father.
Police said that complainant Kishanlal who hails from Rahatgarh in Sagar district in his complaint stated that recently his son’s marriage was solemnized from a marriage garden in Kainchi Chhola area.
On the night of incident, he went to attend marriage procession while keeping bride’s gold jewellery in a box after locking the room where jewellery were kept.
However, when he returned, gold jewellery were missing from the box after which he reported the matter at police station.
