BHOPAL: The BuddhabhoomiDhammadoot Sangha has termed the statement of Jagatguru Shankaracharya Maharaj on Lord Buddha as ridiculous.
In a meeting held at Buddha Bhoomi Mahavihar, Kolar Road here on Monday, the office-bearers and the followers of Buddhism condemned the statement issued by Jagatguru and prayed for the peace, brotherhood and goodwill in the country.
Bhante Shakyaputra Sagar said Buddhism has always promoted spread of knowledge, practice of morality, social equality and humanity. It is humanitarian philosophy of Lord Buddha, which is in the appeal for peace made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said we as Indian should be proud that the PM is promoting the teachings of Buddha, which also shows his broad and universal thinking. Rahul Putra, Vijay Kake, Pradeep Mahaske, Sachin Dandge, Praveen, Prakash Bawaskar, M Manavatkar and Ashwini Rakshe also spoke in the meeting.
