Bhopal: Jehangirabad police have booked a youth for sexually assaulting an 18-year-old girl. Accused was acquainted with the girl and used to frequently visit her house. Police said that the accused Varun Dubane was booked after a complaint was lodged by the victim with the Jehangirabad police claiming that Dubane had sexually assaulted her when she was alone at her house on Sunday.
She told police that on February 10 accused came to her house and requested for her help. Unaware of intentions his intention she allowed him in. But on entering the house he accused captivated her and sexually assaulted her, she added. He then threatened her with dire consequences if she were to reveal about the incident to anyone. But the girl mustered courage and informed her family – who then lodged a complaint with the Jehangirabad police. A case under sections 376, 506 of the IPC has been registered. Accused is still on the run.
