Bhopal: Union Skill Development Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy, who was here to participate in BJP’s nation-wide campaign to publicise achievements of Modi government’s three-year rule, has no idea as to who is Raj Babbar.
This came to fore when his reaction was sought on Babbar’s statement describing Modi government three years as litany of failures. After being informed that Raj Babbar was a well-known Bollywood actor, a Rajya Sabha member and President of UP Congress Committee, the minister said, “I need not answer the question of Babbar as people of UP have already answered it.”
When asked about prosecution of senior BJP leaders for hatching conspiracy to raze Babri mosque, Rudy said that though it was a legal issue, he was pretty sure that there was a conspiracy angle to whatever happened at Ayodhya. He said that the issue of Ram Temple should either be resolved through court or through negotiations.
Rudy said that Bihar was the only state in the country where politics of caste, appeasement and nepotism was still in vogue. While stating that every state would have to take a decision on prohibition based on its circumstances, the minister said that in Bihar even schoolbags of children are being checked which is not good.
He said that Skill Development Department had not been mandated to provide employment to people. It will only make them employable, he added. He further said that around 23 lakh people were being trained so that they could secure jobs in government and private sector. He declined to comment on government’s promise to provide jobs to two crore persons every year.
About Pakistan, he said, “We cannot decide our neighbours but we can decide our policy towards them.” He said that tough steps were being taken to ensure safety of borders.
