BHOPAL: Sexual assault with another KG-1 girl student and a Class 10 girl shocked the state capital on Sunday. The first incident was reported from Aishbagh and the accused has been sent to judicial remand while the second incident was reported from Govindpura.
In the first incident, a seven-year-old student was allegedly sexually assaulted by son of her neighbour in Bagh Umrao Dulha area in Aishbagh locality, the police said on Sunday.
According to the police, the victim resided in a rented accommodation along with her parents at Bagh Umrao Dulha area. She was studying in KG-1 in a private school and her father was a vegetable vendor. They were living in the house for past one year.
IO Shivani Dixit said, “Victim was molested by accused Mujeeb (25) who resides in the same locality. The accused used to varnish at furniture shops and was acquainted with the girl’s family for last four years.”
The accused tried to sexually assault her while she was playing outside her house. The victim’s mother spotted his act and then the matter was reported at Aishbagh police station where a case was registered against the accused and he was arrested. On Sunday he was presented in the court from where he was sent to jail. In the second incident, a milk vendor reportedly raped a 17-year-old student of Class X on pretext of marriage in Govindpura.
SHO, Govindpura, Dinesh Chauhan said, “Victim lives at Barkheda Pathani and her aunt (father’s sister) in nearby Azad Nagar where accused Gagan alias Shubham Kumhre used to supply milk. They got acquainted with each other and became good friends. In January the accused proposed her and then raped the victim at his house. Later he continued to have physical relation several times on pretext of marriage till March 15.
He then stopped responding to her phone calls and started avoiding her.”
Last time when the victim met the accused and asked to marry her, the accused denied, following which the girl reported the matter to her parents and then a complaint was registered at Govindpura police station. The accused was arrested.
In both the cases, case under Section 376 of IPC and POCSO Act were registered.
