Bhopal: Two separate FIRs have been filed against Congress MLA Hemant Katare at two different police stations for rape and kidnapping. Earlier, the MLA had filed the case against the girl for extortion. Now the girl has filed case of rape against the MLA and the victim’s mother has filed a case of kidnapping against MLA.
On the letter sent by the girl from jail to DIG Bhopal, the women police station filed the case of rape against Hemant Katare on late Thursday evening. The police station in-charge Shikha Bais said that the complaint was received from the victim in which she had stated that she was raped by MLA Hemant Katare on several occasions.
She stated that she was raped for first time in Juna Gym situated in Bhopal and during the act, some photographs were taken. After the incident, MLA blackmailed her and made physical relations. She was then taken to Delhi and raped. She also alleged that she was raped many times in MLA’s car. The first incident took place in September 2017 and then in January 2018.
Bais said an application has been moved before court for seeking permission to record girl’s statements. The police want her on remand to verify the crime spots. The police have registered case against Katare under Sections 376 (1) and (2N), 342 and 506 of IPC.
The second FIR was registered at Bajaria police station on Thursday late evening filed by victim’s mother. Responding to this complaint, the police registered the case under Sections 365,384 and 386 of IPC against the MLA and three other people. In the complaint, it is alleged that three unidentified people approached her on January 27 at 2.30 pm and asked her to come with them to record the statement in crime branch police station.
When she got into black colour SUV, she found MLA Hemant Katare also sitting in the car. She was taken to unidentified place and was threatened not to file any case against the MLA.
